DEI work is about ensuring the right for everybody to make mistakes
“In the 2.5 years, I have advised on diversity and inclusion, the most important learning is that the starting point for success is recognising that everyone has the right to make mistakes - and thus also learn something new. It requires that we as leaders create a positive and generous link between the many beliefs and ideas that are at play in our company. We must ensure that everyone has a place in the changing paradigm that diversity and inclusion is; whether we discuss #MeToo, #BlackLivesMatter, #Pride, or just looking outside the norm and realising that being an extrovert does not necessarily equal being a good leader.”
